I’m not going to give you a rundown of every song on this classic album. It’s excellent, point blank. What I want you to do, even if you’ve never listened to any of Kanye’s previous albums is to open your mind and ears because this is what music sounds like.
Don’t label it HIP-HOP, ROCK, R&B, COUNTRY, TECHNO etc. This is music. I asked my girlfriend this morning if I can officially say “If you don’t like Kanye West you don’t like music.” I was not alive during the time of the Beatles but this is what is must’ve felt like. Mr. West is calling out all musicians without saying a name, rappers, rockers, whatever you do that involves sound this CD is asking you to take it further, because Mr. West is in another galaxy.
It’s funny because earlier in the year Pharrel Williams was saying that adding a female to his group would make his music more 3-D, I laugh because Kanye West’s sound has crossed over to the 3rd Dimension. No Mr. West won’t teach you how to “DOUGIE” he will teach you how to make music.
When this album releases next Tuesday all of you who are making sub standard music should use this as inspiration to better yourself. When I listen to good music it makes me feel almost as if my life is a movie and this album has took that to an epic level. So if you’re one of those who say that they love music, a casual listener, etc… take time out and listen to this album. The production value is through the roof even if you don’t like his lyrics.
